Front Cover: The extraordinary adventure of one courageous Christian woman who became a militant heroine of the anti-Nazi underground. The triumphant true story of Corrie ten Boom
"I pray that God forgives them . . ." Corrie Ten Boom stood naked with her older sister Betsie, watching a concentration camp matron beating a prisoner."Oh, the poor woman," Corrie cried."Yes. May God forgive her," Betsie replied. And, once again, Corrie realized that it was for the souls of the brutal Nazi guards that her sister prayed.
Both women had been sent to the camp for helping the Jews. Christ's spirit and words were their guide; it was His persecuted people they tried to save -- at the risk of their own lives; it was His strength that sustained them through times of profound horror.
Here is a book aglow with the glory of God and the courage of a quiet Christian spinster whose life was transformed by it. A story of Christ's message and the courageous woman who listened and lived to pass it along -- with joy and triumph! |

 | Great Christian Literature Mar 30, 2007 |
| The Hiding Place is a great book for any Christian to read. It is an amazing first hand account of a citizen during WWII. Reading the difficulties that Corrie and her family went through and the brave decisions that they made is inspiring. I don't know that I would have the courage to do what they did. | | | | So good, words fail me Mar 8, 2007 |
| One of the greatest Christian stories of all time. A few flaws in "theology," but they are insignificant in the shadow of a real story about real people in a real crisis in history. In dark times, true Christians shine like stars in the night. What more can I say? Everyone should read this book! | | | | A must read! Mar 8, 2007 |
| The Hiding Place is a powerful story of courage, strength, faith and human kindness. It is an incredible true story of finding the best in people and truly loving your neighbor. A quick read that is worth every moment. You'll want to keep it to read again. | | | | Excellent rumination of World War II in this amazing biography! Feb 9, 2007 |
In The Hiding Place, Corrie ten Boom gives us a wonderful true story about faith, hardship, and strength as the German Nazis swept her country--This book will leave you awe-stricken.
The start of the book gives us a glimpse into the life of the ten Booms before German occupation. Corrie moves on to tell us about her childhood and gradually she progresses through a time line of events in her life until Nazi invasion.
At this point in the book, Corrie begins, little by little, to move into the world of the underground. It starts with just a hand full of Jews when she gives them a safe place to stay. But that becomes ration cards for the Jews, and that becomes work with the official underground network, and that goes even further to make the Beje the center of much underground activity.
And then there was the camp. When someone within the underground leaked information to the wrong source, Corrie, her family and many other people who were at the Beje, even innocent ones, were taken to the Scheveningen concentration camp. There she would spend an undeserving two years and two months, relying on Jesus Christ through it all.
The Hiding Place is a remarkable work of art and should be read by all. It is a moving and heart rending book that anyone would love. | | | | A must-read book Feb 6, 2007 |
